The studio team at Body and Mind Physiotherapy welcome you to Mat Pilates in our Petersfield studio in Hampshire. Here you will work on strengthening and lengthening exercises to focus on your core muscles while also training your arms and legs. Mat Pilates is based on the original exercises Joseph Pilates developed to strengthen his own body as a very young man and then began teaching others. The Mat work came before any of the Pilates Apparatus he developed. Mat Pilates can be modified for any age, body, or fitness level.

Practicing Mat Pilates helps build a strong, balanced body and increases flexibility. As you progress in your practice you will notice improvements in breathing, focus, stress management, and body awareness. It can be very beneficial in injury prevention, managing pain and building confidence within your body. Classes will be taught using slow, controlled movements.
Our instructors Lucy Garred and Lucy Brown are very experienced and both have their qualification to level 3 Mat Pilates. They look forward to helping you achieve your goals through Mat Pilates.
Held on Tuesdays 9-10 am and Fridays 18:15 – 19:15 pm, in our studio Physiotherapy clinic in Petersfield, Hampshire.
